Rapper GUCCI MANE's prison term has been shortened by 12 months. The Icy hitmaker, real name Radric Davis, was sentenced to 39 months in jail after pleading guilty to a gun charge in August (14). The charge stemmed from incidents last year (13), when he was caught in illegal possession of a weapon by police officers. His lawyers asked a judge to consider giving him credit for time served and the request was granted this month (Sep14). According to TMZ, his 39-month sentence will now end in December 2016. Upon his release, the star will be supervised for a further three years and limitations will be placed on his travel.
After being sentenced in August to 39 months in prison for a weapons charge, the rapper was sentenced on Monday (September 15) to another three years in prison for an assault, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Gucci, who was born Radric Davis, pleaded guilty to the charge, which stemmed from an incident at an Atlanta nightclub in March of 2013, where he hit an Army staff sergeant on the head with a bottle. “Rather than accommodating the admiring fan, Davis, for no explicable reason, instead, hit the victim over the head with a vodka bottle and then hurriedly left the club,” District Attorney Paul Howard said in a statement. “The victim sustained a deep laceration to his forehead which required ten stitches.”
