Meek Mill will remain in jail at least until September as the judge in his case has denied the rapper’s lawyer’s request for an emergency hearing to try to get the MMG MC freed at an earlier date, reports Philly.com. The Philadelphia rapper’s lawyers Christopher Warren and Dennis Cogan filed the petition Thursday (July 17) requesting a hearing within three days. However, Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley, who sentenced the 27-year-old rapper to 3 to 6 months jail, will not be available for such a hearing until September. She also rejected the notion of another judge hearing the case. This has left Meek’s counsel frustrated. “All I’m asking for is a hearing to learn why [his jailing] is constitutional and they won’t even give me that,” Warren told reporters. (HHDX)

Meek Mill Sentenced For Parole Violation

Rapper Meek Mill crossed the line one time too many with the D.A., and now he's sitting in a Philadelphia jail ... where he'll remain for the next several months. Meek was in court this afternoon to face the judge for multiple violations of his parole on a 2009 drug and gun conviction.

Meek's been bad-mouthing the District Attorney's Office on Twitter. Prosecutors say he also repeatedly scheduled concerts without getting them pre-approved -- and changed his mobile phone number without telling them.

Today in court ... the judge told the rapper, "I didn't want to do this, but you made me do this" -- and then he was sentenced to 3 to 6 months in a city jail. Sources in Meek's entourage tell us the rapper thinks the D.A. had a vendetta against him, and wanted to take him down because he has an album dropping in September. Meek begged the judge for mercy, saying ... "This will be extremely damaging to my life. (TMZ)

"I just wanted to come out and participate and bring my help to the families and everybody that took a loss in this situation," Meek Mill says, "'cause I be feeling like nine times out of 10 they never really use us in a way that it could benefit the community, so you know I come out and use myself.

"Only time I'm really on the news or on the radio it's something about probation,” he continues. "I feel like I'm in a position I could be able to help these people so easily, get donations and get things they need to help them with their losses right now so you know I'm gonna do it."
